The startup was created on the basis of the Polytechnic School of Lausanne. The company has raised about $1 million in investment to develop the masks, according to TechCrunch.
The company also receives non-profit donations and research grants. In total, HMCARE raised $105 million.
The product is planned to be launched in early 2021. The first clients will be medical professionals.
The creators of the startup noted that the idea of transparent masks arose long before the coronavirus. Development began several years ago during the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
