Uber sells “foodie experience”: cooking courses and multi-course meals in Uber Eats

Uber sells “foodie experience” — gourmet opportunities, such as cooking courses and gourmet multi-course meals, in its Uber Eats food delivery app under the new Moments tab.

This was reported by Forbes, noting that the technology is now in test mode, which is currently being held in San Francisco.

Based on the message, Uber Eats users have received an email stating that they can book Uber Moments for the next month, until November 17th. The initial reservation is as follows: $75 for a lesson on cooking Chinese dumplings and a 5-course Nigerian dinner for $55.

Uber spokesman told Forbes when asked about a pilot project, that they always think about new ways to improve Eats.

By design, the test version is similar to what Airbnb has implemented on its platform for placement of residence announcements over the past three years. In the latter case, tens of thousands of experiences are now offered on the platform, covering the entire spectrum of (similar) gourmet offers (in our case). There is almost everything you want to do: guided walking tours, skiing, petting, performing arts classes, etc.

This idea might seem strange to a giant like Uber. But the company has plans to create what CEO Dara Khosrovshahi described last month as «an operating system for your daily life».
